Helton Named C-USA Video Coordinator of the Year

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Collegiate Sports Video Association has announced that Marshall University's Brad Helton is the 2007-2008 Conference USA Video Coordinator of the Year.

Helton is a former winner of the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year (2003). The Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year Award is named in memory of the late Texas A&M Video Coordinator Bob Matey and is voted on by all members of the CSVA.

Helton was selected by his peers in Conference USA. This group is comprised of all 12 Video Coordinators at each member institution. This marks the 7th time that Helton has been selected as a conference video coordinator of the year. Helton previously won the MAC Video Coordinator of the Year Award six consecutive times from the 1999-2000 thru 2004-2005 seasons.

Helton was named Video Coordinator for Marshall University Athletics in 1996.A 1994 graduate of East Tennessee State, Helton is also a well known still photographer and has been hired on numerous occasions to shoot pro/celebrity golf tournaments and various NFL events, including the MCI Heritage(PGA), NFL Charities Super Bowl Golf Classic, The Crosby and the John Daly Make-A-Wish Celebrity Golf Classic. He currently oversees Marshall's online photo store.

The Bristol, Virginia native is married to the former Tara Gilman and the couple has two children, Ryan Chandler (9) and Haley Elizabeth (7).
