HEBRON, Ky.--Bosten Miller tied for fourth as Marshall University finished fourth at the UC Bearcat Men's Golf Invitational Oct. 12 at the Traditions Golf Course. Completing day one play early Tuesday morning, Miller posted a second round 73 which was followed by an even-par 72. Miller's 54-hole total was an even-par 216, tying the Charleston native with Northern Kentucky's Danny Lewis. Northern Illinois' Jeff Dick was the medalist (209).
The Thundering Herd moved up five places from the first round. MU shot 290 to complete round two and ended the tournament with a third round 287. Marshall's 54-hole tally of 877 was six shots behind the team champion, Oakland University (Mich.).
Redshirt senior Christan Brand posted his best Fall performance, tying for 12th (74-74-71-219). Aaron Boggs overcame a poor start to shoot a 71 in round two and a final round two-under par 70. Boggs tied for 20th (80-71-70-220). Nathan Kerns turned in the final scoring mark for the Herd, tying for 32nd (77-72-74-223). Freshman Brian Anania also competed for Marshall during the tournament.
MU ends the Fall portion of the 2010-11 schedule Oct. 25-26 at the Memphis Intercollegiate in Cordova, Tenn.
