HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University Men's Golf Coach Joe Feaganes announced Thursday that Jake Miller has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Thundering Herd next season.
"Jake is a solid player who thrives on competition," Feaganes said. "He chose Marshall over a number of other Division I schools, and he should have an immediate impact on our golf program."
Miller, a native of Patalaska, Ohio, has been the medalist in seven high school tournaments and was the runner-up in the qualifier for the AJGA/Murfield Junior in Columbus. He won the Plantation Junior Tournament at the Michigan State University Golf Club and won the Southern Ohio PGA Junior Tour Event at Moss Creek by shooting a 67 (5-under par).
Miller was voted first-team all-conference and all-district for Watkins Memorial High where he recorded a prep stroke average of 73.5. He also posted a summer tournament stroke average of 72.6.
