Marshall University tight end Lee Smith will be in action Saturday (Jan. 29) when the North and South teams clash in the annual Under Armour Senior Bowl at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET and the contest will be nationally-televised by the NFL Network.
Smith, an All-Conference USA performer at Marshall, will suit up for the North squad that is being coached by Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis and his staff.
The Senior Bowl features the nation's best senior collegiate football stars and is a premier pre-draft event. Senior Bowl practices are attended by more than 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from the 32 National Football League teams.
Lee is one of two Marshall Seniors that have earned invitations to play in collegiate all-star games this year.
Marshall's Mario Harvey, an All-Conference USA First-Team linebacker, has been selected to play in the National Football League Players Association's Texas vs. The Nation All-Star game that is scheduled for February 5 a in San Antonio, Texas.
