HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - The Marshall women’s basketball team looks to continue their pre-season preparations with their second and final exhibition match-up. The Thundering Herd is slated to take on Bluefield State University at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon in Cam Henderson.
Head Coach Chadwick’s team opened up the pre-season with a 83-37 win over Salem International during the first exhibition game on Friday night. In the contest, Marshall forced the Fighting Tigers to turn the ball over 49 times and had 23 steals. Chadwick was able to play everyone who dressed out and had 13 different Herd players scored.
Scouting Bluefield State: Bluefield State recorded a 3-24 overall record last season and finished 2-20 in the WVIAC. The Lady Blues bring back all their starters from last year and introduce 10 newcomers. Included in their returners are last year’s three leading scorers in Charlene Diggs, Kelli Morgan and Kelly Pawloski. Diggs led the team in points per game with 13.7, while Morgan had the top mark in assists per game with 2.8.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two programs. The Herd are 3-0 in the all-time series against the Lady Blues.
