Feb. 17, 2011

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The No. 54 Marshall University tennis team hits the road for weekend matches at No. 67 College of William & Mary on Saturday, and Old Dominion University on Sunday.

The Thundering Herd (8-2) will look to reach double digit wins after coming off a 1-1 weekend in which MU fell to No. 25 Virginia and defeated Middle Tennessee State.

The Herd is set for action with the Tribe (4-3) starting at 11 a.m., on Saturday, and will look for a bit of revenge as the MU fell to W&M last season, 5-2. Marshall then makes the quick drive down to Norfolk, Va., on Sunday to take on the Monarchs (4-4), also slated to being at 11 a.m. Marshall topped ODU last year in Huntington, 5-2.

It was a big week for Dominika Zaprazna as she was named Conference USA Player of the Week for her two wins over ranked opponents in the Virginia match. She also shot up the doubles rankings with teammate Michaela Kissell for their win over No. 10 Emily Fraser and Hana Tomljanovic of UVA. The duo is now ranked No. 26 in the nation and boasts a perfect 10-0 record.
