HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - After collect her first wins as a member of the Thundering Herd, freshman swimmer Danica Ross has been named Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week.
Ross picked up her first career win with a time of 24.10 in the 50-yard freestyle in Friday's quad-meet. Her time was both a team season-best and the seventh fastest in school history.
In Saturday's quad-meet, Ross was able to win once again in the 50 free with a time of 24.32, which came in as the 17th fastest time in the history of Herd swimmers. The freshman was her team's only multiple winner on Saturday as she grabbed a victory, her third in less than 24 hours, in the 100 free, posting a team season-best performance of 53.47.
Ross is native of Binghamton, N.Y. where she attended Chenango Valley High School.
