HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-For the fourth weekend in the last five, Marshall Tennis will play on its home court as it hosts UNC Greensboro and Old Dominion Friday and Sunday, respectively, at the Huntington Tennis Club to cap its mammoth homestand.
Friday's match will begin at 4 p.m., while Sunday's match begins at 10 a.m. The Herd defeated Old Dominion 5-1 in Richmond on April 1st of last season but did not face UNC Greensboro.
In its last time out, the Thundering Herd (4-5) defeated Winthrop 4-3 before falling to 48th-ranked Penn State 6-1.
Karyln Timko's 6-3 singles mark is the best on the team, buoyed by her 4-1 record as the team's sixth seed. The Herd's three doubles teams are all .500 or better with the tandem of Dana Oppinger and Timko boasting a 6-3 mark there as well.
UNC Greensboro is 3-3 this season, with victories over Campbell, Wake Forest and Western Carolina and losses to North Carolina, NC State and Long Beach State. Old Dominion is 7-3, with wins over Norfolk State, George Washington, Howard, UMBC, UT-Arlington, Richmond and Penn and losses to TCU, North Texas and Penn State.
