LORTON, Va. - The Marshall men's golf team dominated the Laurel Hills Golf Course after two rounds of action at the Patriot Intercollegiate on Saturday. The team shot a three-over-par tournament low of 571 to grasp an 11-stroke advantage, while senior Brian Anania (Hurricane, W.Va.) took a one-stroke individual lead.

"We really played well today," said coach Matt Grobe. "Laurel Hills is a very tough golf course, probably one of the toughest we will play this year. The team really responded well to the first day."

Anania played the 6,903 yards most efficiently, shooting a one-under 70 in Round One and two-under 69 in Round Two to total his score to a three-under tournament low of 139.

"Brian Anania and Logan Lagodich continued their good play from last week," Grobe added. "We need to come out focused tomorrow and put together a good round."

The Herd had four top ten finishes, three were included in the team final score. Logan Lagodich (Canton, Ohio) finished the day in a five-way tie with senior Jeremy Rogers (Buckhannon, W.Va.) for a total score of one-under 141. Lagodich shot an even-par 71 in Round One and one-under 70 in Round Two. Rogers, who competed as an individual, shot the opposite with a one-under 70 in the first round and an even-par 71 in the second round.
