HUNTINGTON, W. Va.-Coming off hosting its annual Thunder Invitational, Marshall volleyball travels to Richmond, Ky. on Wednesday to face Eastern Kentucky.

The Herd stands at 1-2 on the season, after falling to Eastern Michigan and Virginia in the tournament and picking up a 3-0 win against UIC.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Junior middle blocker Jillian Shemanski (Jupiter, Fla.) collected 20 total blocks on the weekend, earning All-Tournament honors. After recording a huge solo rejection in the opening match of 2014, Eastern MIchigan forced a fifth and deciding set against after being down 2-0 to the Herd. In addition, Shemanski recorded 13 kills and maintained a .360 hitting efficiency throughout the tournament.
Sophomores Elyse Panick (Chicago) and Ally Kiekover (Grand Rapids, Mich.) lead the Herd with 27 and 29 kills, respectively, after the first weekend of play.
SCOUTING THE COLONELS
Eastern Kentucky enters the match with a 3-1 record, coming off wins against Northeastern, FIU, and Western Carolina in the UCF Invitational. The Colonels' only loss came to UCF, 3-0.
The Colonels have four players with at least 30 kills apiece, and senior setter Abbey Cvelbar is coming off a Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week award.
WE MEET AGAIN
Marshall fell to the Colonels in 2013 by a 3-1 decision in Richmond, but defeated them in Huntington 3-1 during the Thunder Invitational last season.
In Richmond, Panick recorded her first collegiate double-double after picking up 11 kills and 15 digs during the contest, while tallying a career-high (at the time) five total blocks.
Kiekover recorded 23 kills in the match, also collecting three service aces.
Marshall will next travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. for the Chippewa hosted by Central Michigan. The Herd will face teams from Central Michigan, Butler, and Green Bay.
