BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Marshall men's golf team travels to Bowling Green, Ky. for the Kenny Perry Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky. The 12 team tournament is scheduled for play Oct. 12-13.
The Herd has been practicing for two weeks since its last tournament and Head Coach Matt Grobe is ready to get his team back out there. "We are really excited to be playing in the WKU Kenny Perry Invitational," Coach Grobe said. "We have heard great things about the tournament and the course."
This is the first time that Coach Grobe and his team have seen this course and Marshall had a chance to get in a practice round Sunday. "We have a lot of work to do in the practice round today," Coach Grobe stated. "Hopefully we get some good work in and put a good game plan together for Monday and Tuesday."
The five who will be competing for Marshall in the tournament are senior Logan Lagodich (Canton, Ohio), juniors Will Evans (Charleston, W.Va.), Davey Jude (Kermit, W.Va.) and Clark Robinson (South Windsor, Conn.) along with sophomore Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio).
The schools along with Marshall in the tournament are host team Western Kentucky, Arkansas State, Austin Peay State, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, IPFW, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Morehead State, Samford and Tennessee Tech.
The Kenny Perry Invitational takes place at The Club at Olde Stone golf course. Results from both days of competition will be posted to HerdZone.com.
