HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall baseball (18-15) looks to complete the season series sweep of the Eastern Kentucky Colonels (17-19) on Tuesday at the Kennedy Center Field on Route 2 at 3 p.m.
ON THE MOUND
Freshman pitcher Wade Martin (Portsmouth, Ohio) will get his collegiate start on Tuesday against the Colonels. Martin has made five appearances in relief with a 1-0 record. Right-hander Chris Cervantes (0-1) will get the nod for EKU.
A two-run home in the sixth inning sparked a come-from-behind 5-4 victory for the Herd over the Colonels at the Kennedy Center Field on March 22.
Cory Garrastazu (Miami) led the way for Marshall as he hit a two-run home run to tie the ballgame in the bottom of the sixth. Garrastazu also shined on defense by robbing EKU of a grand slam in the fourth with a jumping catch.
Freshman Andrew Zban (Huntington, W.Va.) had the game-winning hit in the eighth to score Aaron Bossi (St. Louis.)

Freshman Joshua Shapiro was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after earning his first collegiate victory on Sunday. The left-hander shutdown the No. 16 Florida Atlantic Owls with seven scoreless innings, while striking out five. The Columbus, Ohio, native became the first Herd hurler to be named C-USA Pitcher of the Week since 2014.
Junior Leo Valenti (Olympia, Wash.) ranks seventh in the country in sacrifice bunts with 11, while he ranks third in Conference USA.
Junior Corey Bird (Elkview, W.Va.) leads the league in stolen bases with 17 this season, good for 35th in the Conference. Teammate DJ Gee (Seattle) is right on his tail with 14 stolen bases, second in the conference.
SCOUTING THE COLONELS
Eastern Kentucky is coming off a strong weekend by winning two of three games against the SIUE Cougars. The Colonels won the first game of the weekend series by a score of 8-4, and then finished the weekend with a 12-1 rout of the Cougars.
The Thundering Herd travels to Charlotte, N.C. for a three-game weekend series against the Charlotte 49ers. First game is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m.
