HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Due to impending cold weather set for this weekend, Marshall baseball has announced a change to this weekend's schedule against the Niagara Purple Eagles at the Kennedy Center Field on Route 2.
The Herd and Purple Eagles will now play Thursday at 3 p.m. The second game of the series will take place Friday at 2 p.m., while the final game will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.
Marshall will play four games in four days, beginning Wednesday at former Southern Conference foe ETSU at 6:30 p.m. Junior right-handed pitcher Will Ray is expected to get his first start on the mound for the Herd. Griffin Kreig will get the start for the Buccaneers.
Niagara enters this weekend's series with a 6-5 overall record. The Purple Eagles swept Norfolk State in a three-game series, defeated La Salle University twice and handed No. 12 Virginia its first loss of the season. Niagara is led at the plate by Greg Cullen, Peter Battaglia and Tanner Kirwer. Cullen has a team-high nine RBIs, while Battaglia and Kirwer each has seven RBIs.
