Coaches Tour Stop, State of the University Address Set for Washington, D.C.

The final stop on the Big Green Coaches Tour is this Thursday, June 22, in the nation’s capital.

The Washington, D.C. area chapter of the Big Green will host the final event at the Newseum, where Marshall University President Jerry Gilbert will deliver the State of the University address. Gilbert will be joined by MU Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick, football coach Doc Holliday and men’s basketball coach Dan D’Antoni.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

There is no charge for the event, but those wishing to attend must RSVP directly to Teddy Kluemper of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation. Kluemper can be reached by email ( or phone (304-696-3401). Space is limited, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible.

The Newseum is a seven-level, 250,000 square foot interactive museum that features 15 theaters and 15 galleries. The building is located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. The museum is a popular tourist destination and attracts nearly one million visitors per year.

Those who attend the event are asked to use the Freedom Forum entrance. The event is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
