Men’s Basketball Prepares to Host Toledo

The Herd looks to end a two-game losing streak

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's basketball is set to host Toledo Saturday (Dec. 8) to begin a two-game homestand at the Cam Henderson Center.

The Herd has had a 20-point scorer in seven of its eight.
Senior guard C.J. Burks is the only player on the team to score in double-figures every game this season, including four games with 20 or more points.
Senior guard Rondale Watson made his first start of the season at Duquesne.
Senior guards Jon Elmore and Burks have combined for 320 of the team's 691 points this season (46.3 percent).
The Herd is 4-0 at home with a 1-3 road record.
In all five of Marshall's victories, it outscored its opponent in the paint.
Toledo comes into the Cam Henderson Center with an 8-1 record and is on a six-game win streak. The Rockets own a positive scoring margin of 17.6 points and outrebound its opponent by 6.4 rebounds per game. As a team, Toledo shoots 48.1 percent from the field and makes 40.3 percent of its attempts from three-point range. The Rockets have five players averaging 10 or more points and three players with 29 or more assists.
Toledo was tabbed to finish third in the MAC West Division in the conference's preseason poll and was picked by three voters to be the MAC Tournament Champion.

Jaelan Sanford leads the Rockets averaging 17.2 points per game in nine starts this season. Sanford also has spent most time on the court for Toledo averaging 30.9 minutes per game. He was also picked to the MAC West Division preseason-team as voted on by media members and head coaches.
Nate Navigato is second on the team in points scored (13.4) and leads team in shooting percentage from beyond the arc (55.6 percent). 30 of Navigato's 41 made shots have been from three-point range this season.
Marreon Jackson leads the Rockets in assists with 41 helpers this season. He is also tied for the team lead in steals with eight.
Willie Jackson is averaging a double-double this season with 12.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Marshall trails in the all-time series 33-23, but have taken the last two meetings between the programs.
