Cecil Fletcher
- Induction:
- 2013
- Class:
- 1987
An All-Southern Conference defensive lineman, Cecil Fletcher helped Marshall advance to its first NCAA Division I-AA national championship game in 1987. One of the most disruptive pass rushers to don the Green and White, Fletcher set a school record with 19 tackles for loss, including 17 quarterback sacks, during the 1986 season. His 4 ½ sacks in a win at Ohio University that season remain the Marshall single-game record. The Bloomington, Ohio, native was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game following his senior season, which made him the first Marshall student-athlete to participate in a postseason all-star game since Jackie Hunt in 1942. Fletcher was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
