Marshall University Athletics
Sodexo Group Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in fundraising with Sodexo at Marshall University! We are the official food service provider for the Marshall Athletic Department. For sporting events we partner with local non-profit organizations to operate the concession stands. We provide equipment, food, change fund, and training. In return, the group staffs the stand for the obligatory time with the required number of volunteers.
Requirements
- The group will need to provide a W-9 and a certificate of insurance naming Sodexo as the certificate holder.
- All Marshall venues sell alcohol. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
- Free alcohol training is provided prior to first event. Certification lasts three seasons. It is required that all members of your organization attend training.
- The Cabell County Health Department also requires that everyone take a temporary food workers exam. There is a $5 fee with each test. We pay the fees and then subtract the total amount from the last game’s commission check. The Cabell County Health Department does not recognize any other county or state certification.
- Groups will be asked to sign a contract before working first event. Depending on event that will be worked, the group may need to obtain credentials.
- Group members must arrive four hours prior to game time for football making the day a good eight hours. Basketball can be worked in five with a three-hour lead time.
- The group will have to submit a gate list of names for every event being worked.
Uniform
- The group must wear black pants and black slip resistant shoes
- Sodexo will provide a shirt and hat for all members to wear.
- The group may take the items home to wash for the next event or leave them behind for Sodexo to launder for a $3 per shirt fee.
Process
Upon arrival, group must check in and retrieve their clipboard. Once they are in their stand, they begin to count inventory and prepare their stand. A Sodexo supervisor will verify inventory numbers. This is done at the beginning of the event and at the conclusion of the event. The inventory sheet will determine what your sales were for the event, thus your commission will be calculated from it. It is essential that the group arrive at the designated time to prep well for the event. It is also important that the group bring the contracted number of people to maximize your sales for the event.
Payment
Groups are paid a commission on net sales from the concession stands. Payment varies depending on event, opponent, weather, location, and time. Payment is mailed from our corporate office within three weeks of the event.
To get started volunteering with Sodexo, please answer the next questions and submit the questionnaire, and someone will reach out to you.
