May was voted the team’s Back of the Year in his junior and senior seasons. May also joined the Marshall wrestling team, on which he also served as a captain, placing fourth at the Mid-American Conference Tournament in the 147-pound classification as a junior. As a senior he was undefeated in the 157-pound class, then fell ill during the MAC Tournament and finished fourth once again.
