Marshall Basketball Battles Central Michigan Tuesday

Marshall University (8-3 overall, 4-0 MAC) will be looking to stay perfect in Mid-American Conference play when it hosts Central Michigan University (9-3, 2-1 MAC) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Thundering Herd, off to its best MAC start ever, will be tested by a Central Michigan squad that is coming off a win over preseason MAC-favorite Ohio. The Chippewas handed Ohio an 87-84 loss Saturday thanks to a remarkable half court shot at the buzzer by senior guard J.R. Wallace.

The Chippewas feature a veteran lineup that is led by the MAC's premiere center, seven-foot junior Chris Kaman, who averages 19 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Senior forward Mike Manciel and senior guard J.R. Wallace contribute 15.4 poinnts and 11.5 points per game, respectively.

Marshall has used a balanced attack that features five players in double-digit scoring, highlighted by junior Ronald Blackshear's 19.9 points per game.

In a related note, Marshall's ticket office has recieved a limited number of tickets for this Saturday's Marshall at Kent State game.
