Marshall University will host long-time rival Ohio University Saturday in a key Mid-American Conference men's basketball. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on the Thundering Herd/ISP Sports Network (WSAZ-TV in Huntington/Charleston).
The game will be the 85th meeting between the two schools that are separated by less than 90 miles. Ohio holds a 44-40 lead in the all-time series that dates back to 1930.
Both Ohio (5-10 overall, 2-5 MAC) and Marshall (9-7 overall, 5-3 MAC)enter the contest having dropped four of their last five games. Ohio is coming off a 66-60 overtime loss to Bowling Green at home, while Marshall is attempting to rebound from a 96-75 setback at Ball State.
The Bobcats were the preseason pick to win the MAC East thanks in no small part to All-MAC selection Brandon Hunter. The 6-7 standout forward averages 21 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.
