HUNTINGTON - The Marshall University Department of Athletics announced the promotion of Rob Heuer to the position of assistant compliance director on Wednesday.
"I am excited that I have the opportunity to continue in the compliance office here at Marshall," Heuer said. "I am looking forward to working with our staff and building on the strong foundation already in place in our compliance program."
Heuer, who joined the Marshall Compliance staff as a graduate assistant in May of 2006, has served in that capacity on an interim basis for the past three months.
Heuer previously worked in multiple capacities at the University of Nebraska. He served as a student assistant in the football recruiting office and as an assistant in the athletic communications office. He recently completed an internship with Nebraska's Athletic Eligibility Certification Office, where he dealt with financial aid and athletic eligibility. Heuer also assisted the Nebraska Compliance Office by developing a new agent policy and improving the Cornhusker's compliance website.
Heuer was a cheerleader on the Nebraska Spirit Squad and served as squad captain as a senior. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Nebraska and is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports administration from Marshall.
