Marshall Women's Tennis Set for Season Opener

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's tennis team will open its fall season Friday at the William and Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.

Marshall went 16-12 in the 2007 spring season, while competing against 10 nationally ranked opponents.

The Thundering Herd returns 2007Conference USA Player of the Year, Kellie Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa.) back to the roster and second team All-C-USA recipient Karolina Soor (Lindesberg, Sweden).

The pair will compete in the ITA All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. at the Riviera Tennis Club at the end of this month. Schmitt will compete in singles action and team up with Soor for doubles competition.
