Matt Schiffbauer Named Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week

Sophomore cross country runner Matt Schiffbauer is the Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week. Named Conference USA Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season, Schiffbauer led the men to a first place team finish at the Furman Invitational Oct. 10 in a field of 15. Schiffbauer crossed the line ten seconds before the second-place finisher with an 8K time of 26:32.

Along with registering the first win of his collegiate career, Schiffbauer has placed 2nd at the Greensboro Invitational, 6th at the Mel Brodt Invitational, and 7th at the EKU Invitational.
