MU Student-Athletes Launch Food Drive

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is conducting a food drive to benefit the Huntington Area Food Bank through Conference USA's Changing Lives Program.
Marshall student-athletes will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items at multiple Thundering Herd athletics events between November 12 and November 18.
Marshall Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to the men's basketball games with WVU Tech on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and Glenville State on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.; the football game with Memphis on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m.; and the women's basketball game with South Carolina-Upstate on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
All food items collected at each of these events will be donated to the Huntington Area Food Bank and help those in need throughout the Tri-State area.
Collection points will also be set up in the Memorial Student Center and at the Marshall Student Recreation Center during regular hours.
The Food Drive also serves as a friendly competition between the SAACs at all 12 Conference USA member schools and the institution that collects the most food (measured in weight) will be presented with the C-USA SAAC Cup.
