Amanda Kennedy Named MU Student-Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Amanda Kennedy of the Marshall University women's track & field team has been named MU Student-Athlete of the Week for her first place finish in the javelin at the Ohio Open last weekend.

The freshman, Bentleyville, Pa. native had a toss of 41.33m, which was more than a foot clear of second place.

Kennedy owns the school record in the javelin and looks to capture the Conference USA championship this weekend as the Thundering Herd is in Orlando for the competition this Thursday through Sunday.
