DeAndre Kane Named C-USA Freshman of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall redshirt freshman DeAndre Kane received his second Conference USA Freshman of the Week honor on Monday, the league office announced.

This marks the second honor for Kane this season. He also received the award on December 6, 2010.

Kane began the week with five points and six rebounds at UCF. Despite major cramping, he played 27 minutes while battling UCF until the buzzer.

He rebounded on Saturday, falling just short of a triple-double against Southern Miss. Kane finished the game with 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. He finished 7-of-13 from the floor and hit a pair of three pointers in 30 minutes of play.

Kane and the Thundering Herd are back in action tonight, playing host to Savannah State at 6 p.m.
