CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- The ladies of the Marshall tennis team are preparing for their final tournament of the 2011 fall season as they gear-up for the Kitty Harrison Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina, at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center this Friday through Sunday.

The Thundering Herd arrives in Chapel Hill having last seen action some two weeks ago at the ITA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament. Junior Dominika Zaprazna and her sophomore doubles partner Maria Voscekova advanced all the way to the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament at the Mid-Atlantic, further establishing themselves as one of the top tandems in the region. The pair also grabbed one of Marshall's three tournament wins for the fall season when they won the A Flight doubles tournament at the Wake Forest Invitational one month ago.

Indeed, the Herd will definitely be relying on Zaprazna and Voscekova's prowess as it looks to set a high precedent for the 2012 season by finishing the year with some victories at the Kitty Harrison Invitational. Karli Timko, Kristina Koprcina, Ellie Ball, and Kara Kucin will also be looking to build momentum for the upcoming spring, and will want to further establish themselves in the college tennis arena.

The Kitty Harrison Invitational will be played in a different format than the traditional, bracket-styled tournaments the Herd has seen in its previous fall matches, as it will employ a mock dual format that will pit Marshall's entire team against another school's squad.

Marshall's Friday matches begin at 9:00 a.m. with a doubles showdown against Texas A&M, and extend all the way to 10:15 a.m. doubles matches against Virginia, and a 1:00 p.m. singles dual with Princeton.
