JONESBORO, Ark. - After getting back into the win column on Tuesday, Marshall's men's basketball team (4-6) will start a four game road swing on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET against Arkansas State (3-4) in Jonesboro.

HAVE YOU HERD?

After several hard fought games against power five opponents including Penn State, South Carolina and No. 22 West Virginia, the Herd defeated quick-shooting King University 90-76 at the Cam Henderson Center on Tuesday, in a game that saw 76 total three point attempts. Four players finished the game in double figures for the Herd, including redshirt sophomore forward Ryan Taylor (Indianapolis) who finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES

Arkansas State is 3-4 and is coming off a 14 point win at SEC opponent Mississippi State. Saturday's game marks the first home game for the Red Wolves in three contests. The team is just 1-2 at home this season, with its lone win coming against Belhaven (95-68). Head coach John Brady is in his seventh season with the school.

Statistically, the Red Wolves have three players that average double-digit scoring: Anthon Livingston (16), Cameron Golden (14.9) and Sean Gardner (13.4). Livingston (6.6) and Gardner (5.3) both average more than five rebounds per game.

QUOTABLES

Herd coach Dan D'Antoni on win against King:

"The last game we came out with the 'W,' which we needed. We had six losses in a row that we had competed in and were right there, but we weren't able to get over the hump. King was a nice shooting ball club that was very dangerous, especially after playing in the West Virginia game. We executed well enough to win the game. I was proud of them. I think it was the first time in ten years we had won the first game after the West Virginia game, so it helped us get on the bus headed towards Arkansas State."

D'Antoni on Arkansas State:

"They're a good ball club. They just beat Mississippi State at Mississippi State, so we have our work cut out. They have two bigs inside and they have a little lefty that's a really good scorer. We're going to have to make sure that each game is different from the game before. There are no guaranteed wins and no guaranteed losses really with this team. We will play each game individually and try to get improvement in our play as we get ready for Conference USA."

NEXT UP

The Herd will head west for a matchup against the University of Nevada in Reno on Dec. 22. The game will start at 10:00 p.m. ET.
