Dan D'Antoni, head coach
On the team's performance:
"I was happy that we got the win. Ryan Taylor had an outstanding game and Austin Loop looked much better. James Kelly had another solid performance tonight. We have to limit the turnovers and improve the free throw shooting but overall we played a solid game."
On the second half:
"I did not have the confidence to substitute anybody, so I left the same five guys out there for the entire time. I knew that they could play well and they showed why I trusted them."
On the scoring run late in the second half:
"It was nice. Usually we are on the opposite end of that run once Ryan [Taylor] or James [Kelly] takes a seat so it was nice to be on the right end of one."
Ryan Taylor, junior forward
On getting the first win of the regular season:
"We are all excited. We knew it was going to come here soon. I didn't know when, and we didn't know whenââ'¬Â¦It feels really good to get the monkey off of our backs and get the first win."
C.J. Burks, redshirt freshman guard
On his role on the team expanding:
"I just feed off of everybody else. I am not the type of person that goes for shots. I just shoot the shots that come to me and help the team wherever I can help them."
On realizing that he was going to stay in the game:
"We did good, so coaches kept us on the court. We just kept hustling, and we did everything we could to help our team."
James Kelly, senior forward
On having a great game rebounding:
"It feels good. I just have to be more physical every game and help the guys get down there."
