Big Green Announces 2015 Annual Fund Membership Drive
3/30/2015 12:00:00 AM | General
The Big Green Scholarship Foundation is proud to announce the 2015 Big Green Annual Fund membership drive is underway. Donors, season ticket holders, and prospective donors alike have all recently received, or will be receiving their information packets soon.
"Giving 110%"
Donors will notice several differences to this year's Big Green, including the "Giving 110%" campaign. The cost of athletic scholarships, not only at Marshall, but for universities nationwide, will significantly increase beginning in 2015 due to the new "cost of attendance" allowance recently approved by the NCAA. "Giving 110%" has been instituted to assist with these new costs.
The program has two goals:
1) Increase Big Green membership by 10%,
2) Increase total Annual Fund giving by 10%.
Annually, it is the goal of the Big Green to cultivate new members, as well as increase donations. However in the new landscape of college athletics the support of our donors is more important than ever. The "Giving 110%" title is an acknowledgement of the effort our student-athletes put forth in the classroom and on the field of play. As part of their 110% gift, donors will be eligible to earn additional Priority Points, as well as be entered into weekly drawings (May 1- December 31) in which they will be eligible to win Herd Athletics specific prizes, such as team gear, autographed balls, premium ticketing, and more.
Benefit Level Changes
Donors will notice some changes to the 2015 membership levels, including an increase in benefits and their corresponding names. While donors will now see six different Membership Levels (rather than nine), please remember that while there have been some changes to the giving levels there have been NO changes made in seating or parking contribution requirements. For example, East Side seating in Sections 107-113 in Joan C. Edwards Stadium will see no increase in the Big Green donation requirement.
The Marco level ($60) is the new beginning level for the Big Green, replacing the old $50 Herd level and is designed to allow donors to join the Big Green for just $5 per month. The Marco level includes all the benefits of the former Herd level.
The new White ($120) level is a combination of the old Green Buffalo and Bronze Buffalo levels. Much like the Marco level, the significance of the $120 is the ability of the donor to easily make small monthly gifts. Further, the decrease in contribution requirement allows donors more benefits for less cost.
The new Green ($600) level replaces the Silver Buffalo level. An extra benefit to this level is the addition of game day promotional items. These items will be offered at select athletics events throughout the year.
The Leaders ($1,500) level is a combination of the former Gold Buffalo and Coaches Circle levels. This level includes all of the benefits of those two former levels, along with eligibility to receive game day promotional items, as well as access to "Training Camp Day" for Football and Men's Basketball (details TBD).
The Champions ($5,000) level replaces the former Directors Circle, providing donors with the same benefits as the Leaders Level and includes a commemorative autographed ball from the Marshall coach of their choice.
Finally, the Scholars ($10,000) level is the highest Annual Fund level. All benefits that are included in the Marco through Champions levels will apply to the Scholars Level. Scholars Level donors will receive an invitation to the Athletic Director's Sky Suite for a select home football game and access to exclusive pre-game Coaches Chalk Talk at Men's Basketball games.
