HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall men's basketball (15-15, 11-6) will honor Justin Edmonds (Albion, Mich.) and James Kelly (Ann Arbor, Mich.) against Southern Miss (8-20, 5-12) on Saturday during Senior Night at Cam Henderson Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Sophomore point guard Jon Elmore (Charleston, W.Va.) posted his second double-double as Marshall fell prey to Derric Jean's half-court buzzer-beater for Louisiana Tech, which lifted the Bulldogs to a 97-94 win at Cam Henderson Center on Thursday night. Elmore had 18 points and matched a career-high 10 assists. Senior James Kelly (Ann Arbor, Mich.) led the Herd in scoring with 27 points, turning in his 15th game of 20 points or more. He reached the top 10 for points in a single Marshall season, at 615 for the year. Junior Stevie Browning (Logan, W.Va.) had 16 points, and C.J. Burks (Martinsburg, W.Va.) had 12 points off the bench to round out double-figure scoring for Marshall.

Senior James Kelly (Ann Arbor, Mich.) needs five rebounds to become the second player in Marshall history to record at least 600 points and 300 rebounds in a single season. He has 615 points and 295 boards. The only other Herd player to do so is Russell Lee (1970-71 and 1971-72).

Seniors Justin Edmonds (Albion, Mich.) and James Kelly (Ann Arbor, Mich.) will be honored during pregame introductions on Saturday. The duo played together at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio, from 2011-13 before reuniting at Marshall.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Southern Miss (8-20, 5-12) ranks fourth in Conference USA in scoring defense, allowing 69.2 points per contest. The Golden Eagles have limited their opposition to 60 points or less seven times this season and are 4-3 in those contests. Southern Miss has made at least seven 3-pointers in each of the last 11 games, starting the stretch with a season-best 16 against UAB (Feb. 11). The Golden Eagles tallied 10 Thursday at WKU and are averaging 11.4 per game over the last seven contests.
Marshall leads the series with USM, 10-8, and is 7-2 when playing the Golden Eagles in Huntington. The Herd took last year's meeting in Hattiesburg, 69-54 (Jan. 29, 2015).
