RUSTON, La. - The Marshall men's basketball team will close out the weekend when it takes on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. ET.

HAVE YOU HERD?
A 54-point second half surge from Southern Miss helped defeat Marshall, 91-76. Austin Loop made five 3-pointers to improve his career total to 257 made threes. He is now one 3-pointer away from moving into the top 10 all-time list in C-USA. Ryan Taylor collected his 35th career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jon Elmore had his 13th game of the season with at least 20 points or more.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Louisiana Tech boasts one of the most impressive advantages when playing at home. Since Feb., 2012, it has only lost four games when playing at the Thomas Assembly Center and owns a record of 76-4 in that span. Since joining C-USA in the 2012-13 season, La. Tech has only lost two games at home. The Bulldogs are also one of two teams (Middle Tennessee) that rank in the top five in both scoring offense and scoring defense.
WHO TO KNOW
Erik McCree has registered 10 double-doubles in the last 18 games, which includes a stretch of five consecutive games. He recently surpassed 1,200 career points and 600 career rebounds. DaQuan Bracey has won C-USA Freshman of the Week honors multiple times this season and has collected 125 assists this season (No. 3 in C-USA). He also has the No. 1 turnover/assist ratio in the league with a +3.47.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the sixth contest between the two sides in a series that dates back to the 1980s. Marshall is looking for its first ever win against the Bulldogs, as Louisiana Tech owns a 5-0 record against the Herd.
LAST TIME
Jon Elmore (Charleston, W.Va.) posted his second double-double as Marshall men's basketball (15-15, 11-6) fell prey to Derric Jean's half-court buzzer-beater for Louisiana Tech (23-7, 12-5), which lifted the Bulldogs to a 97-94 win at Cam Henderson Center on Thursday night.
