Taylor Earns Second Conference USA Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week Award

The redshirt freshman averaged 19.5 points in two games last week
IRVING, Texas – Marshall men's basketball redshirt freshman guard Andrew Taylor was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office. It is his second weekly award this season.
Taylor had a big week on the road for Marshall with 19.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game as the Herd went 1-1 on its Florida swing. The Corbin, Ky., native also shot 46.4 percent from the field, including 7-of-17 from behind-the-arc. In a win at FIU, Taylor had 14 points to go with four steals, three rebounds and five assists while turning the ball over just one time. At Florida Atlantic on Saturday, he poured a game-high 25 points into the basket, his second game of 20 or more points this season, brought down four rebounds and had three takeaways. He has had three consecutive games of 10 or more points and has five total on the season.
Marshall is back in action on Thursday night when it hosts Southern Miss at the Cam Henderson Center.
