First All-region selection for all three players

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 10th-ranked Marshall men's soccer team earned more accolades as three players were selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team, the organization announced Wednesday. Junior Vitor Dias was named to the First Team, with junior Nathan Dossantos and sophomore Max Schneider were named to the Second Team.

It is the first all-region honors for all three players.

Dias has been an absolute star for the Herd in his second season at Marshall. The Brasilia, Brazil native was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, Offensive MVP, Co-Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-Conference. Dias leads the team in scoring with six goals, is tied for the team lead with five assists and has 17 points. His fancy footwork and great ball-handling skills have allowed him to either create chances for himself or opportunities for his teammates. He assisted on Marshall's first goal against Fordham in the NCAA Tournament, nailed the game-winning penalty kick in the shootout against Clemson and assisted on the game-winner against Georgetown in the Elite 8. Dias is also a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.

Dossantos is an incredible transfer find for Marshall. The junior defender came to Huntington after two seasons at Duquesne and has been a leader at center back. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada native has helped lead a stingy Herd defense that in 16 matches has allowed just 28 shots on goal, eight goals, and has delivered nine shutouts including the Elite 8 win over Georgetown. Dossantos and the Marshall defense had three matches this season where the opponent did not even have a shot on goal. He was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week three times and earned First Team All-Conference honors while helping the Herd earn another C-USA Championship.

Schneider has been a rock for the Herd in the midfield. The Cologne, Germany native is a force on the defensive end as well as on the attack. Schneider uses his height, speed and leaping ability to win a lot of challenges anywhere on the field. He owns a strong leg that was displayed with a blast on a free kick against Clemson from about 30 yards away that curled into the upper left corner of the net and gave the Herd a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Schneider was named Second Team All-Conference USA after earning All-Freshman Team honors in 2019.

Marshall awaits its date in the Final Four in the program's first ever trip to the College Cup in Cary, N.C. The Herd takes on No. 16 North Carolina on Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m.
