Marshall takes five doubles contests, pair of singles matches
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team opened up action on Friday at the Thunder in the Mountains in Charleston, West Virginia, at the Kanawha Rec Center.
"We were excited to compete today and it was great having the support of our Herd fans and student-athletes," tennis assistant coach Robin Cambier said. "We did a great job adjusting between the first and second doubles matches and we competed hard in singles. I'm looking forward to see how we can keep improving tomorrow in singles and doubles against some strong opponents!"
Sophomore Emma Vanderheyden and freshman Johanna Strom went 1-1 as a doubles pairing with each taking their respective singles match against WVU.
The doubles pairing of sophomore Sophia Hurrion and freshman Andjela Lopicic took both of their doubles contests.
