Marshall looks to get back into win column

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University men's basketball team (12-4, 1-2 Sun Belt) returns to the Cam Henderson Center on Saturday against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (7-7, 1-2 Sun Belt).
 
PROMOTIONS
A ticket purchased for the women's game will allow entry to the both games Saturday. Additionally, kids aged 12 and under will receive free admission to both games. To validate free tickets, please purchase in person at the Cam Henderson Center box office.
 
The first 500 kids ages 12 and under will also receive a free book, courtesy of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
 
The women's team plays host to Georgia Southern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Henderson Center.  The Tip Off Club and Locker Room (Women's Championship Fund) Club have partnered together to invite its members to a special day of Herd Basketball.  The Hartley Room will open at Noon with food and beverages.  Locker Room Club members will check in at the Tarmac entrance to receive wristbands for entry into the pre-game reception.

The Herd fell in Statesboro, Georgia, to Georgia Southern, 81-76, on Thursday night.
 
With 22 points, fifth-year senior Taevion Kinsey led all student-athletes on a 50-percent (8-for-16) shooting night. He finished with six assists on his stat line, tied with redshirt senior Andrew Taylor for the team-lead. Taylor also contributed 18 points in the contest.
 
Freshman Micah Handlogten collected a double-double as he tallied 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. The native of Huntersville, North Carolina, made six of his seven attempts from the field.

SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers are coming off 63-62 loss to App State in Boone, North Carolina, on Thursday.
 
Coastal Carolina brings a conference-best, ninth in the nation, 78.9 shooting percentage at the charity stripe. Jomaru Brown, CCU's leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, makes 91.8 percent of his free-throw attempts, eighth most in NCAA Division I men's basketball.
 
Essam Mostafa is averaging a double-double this season with 13.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. In rebounds, he ranks eighth in the country and second in the conference, behind Handlogten.
