Scott leads the conference with most field goals made
NEW ORLEANS- Marshall women's basketball junior guard Roshala Scott was named to the 2023 all-Sun Belt Conference second team by the league office Monday.
Scott is first in the Sun Belt Conference with 196 field goals made. The junior is making 44.5 percent of her shots, which is sixth-best in the conference. Her 17.7 points per game is fourth in the conference. Scott has finished in double figures scoring in 27 of Marshall's 29 games. The newcomer has played the 20th most minutes in the league.
Scott's game-winning shot in overtime of Marshall's Dec. 29 victory over South Alabama marked the Herd's first-ever Sun Belt Conference win.
The Marshall women's basketball team opens the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Wednesday, March 1 against Coastal Carolina.
