Marshall Men’s Basketball Reveals Complete 2023-24 Schedule

Fifteen home games, matchup at Kentucky, Cayman Islands trip highlight season slate

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University men's 2023-24 basketball schedule has been finalized with the Sun Belt Conference unveiling its schedule ahead of men's basketball head coach Dan D'Antoni's 10th season at the helm of the Herd.
"Scheduling is an important ingredient to success, really," Marshall men's basketball coach Dan D'Antoni said. "You have to do it well and you have to be challenged, but at the same time, you have to have games that you can gain confidence. I think we have a good combination and it's a tough, challenging schedule."
Marshall will play 15 games within the friendly confines of Cam Henderson Center in the 2023-24 season. Season tickets are now on sale through Marshall Ticket Office. Those are available for purchase online by clicking HERE.
The non-conference slate is highlighted by a matchup against Kentucky at Rupp Arena on November 24 in Lexington.
"We need to play Quad 1 opponents and it only makes sense to play one of the best," said Marshall Director of Athletics Christian Spears. "Kudos to Coach Calipari and his staff at UK for being willing to play Marshall, and special thanks to former Marshall AD Bob Marcum for always staying connected with Coach Cal and for our mutual Pittsburgh friends who encouraged making this connection. It is always about people and we got some great folks connected around both our programs."
The home non-conference schedule features contests against Queens (Nov. 6), Miami (Ohio) (Dec. 2), Duquesne (Dec. 6), UNCG (Dec. 16), Bluefield University (Dec. 18) and UNC Wilmington (Dec. 21).
Prior to the Nov. 24 road trip to take on Kentucky, Marshall will compete in the Cayman Islands Classic from Nov. 19-21.
Marshall's 2023-24 Sun Belt Conference schedule features 18 games against league foes with nine of those games coming at Cam Henderson Center, including hosting the regular-season champion Southern Miss January 10.
The Thundering Herd built momentum late in 2022-23 by selling out the Cam Henderson Center on several occasions and D'Antoni said doing so again is a pivotal piece of team success.
"I hope everybody will get out and support us because it's going to be a great season," D'Antoni said. "There are several key areas that determines a team's success. Obviously, one is how good your team is, but another is the support that you get from the fanbase and the administration in how they put on the event to create enthusiasm. Our support here from our fanbase in basketball has been high since our second season and we want to keep the capacity level at the max."
The Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championship will be held Mar. 5-11 from the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla.
