Women’s Soccer opener, Herd Rally at Pullman highlights fun week of Herd events
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – As Marshall Athletics kick into gear with the return of students and regular-season contests, here is a look at the excitement that fans can be looking for this week with the Herd!
Action starts on Monday with Marshall Men's Soccer hosting a 7:15 p.m. contest against Radford in the final home exhibition of 2025. The Herd men's program is coming off a 2-0 win over Villanova in exhibition play on Saturday.
On Thursday, Marshall Women's Soccer ushers in the first regular-season contest for the 2025-26 calendar year when the team travels to Morehead State for a 7 p.m. contest against the Eagles. Head coach Rafa Simoes' team goes into the game after earning a 9-0 win over UPike in Saturday's exhibition.
The highlight of the week will be Friday's Herd Rally, which starts at 7 p.m. at Pullman Plaza. This free pep rally in downtown Huntington is in coordination with Kindred Communications' 9th Street Live Celebration and brings together the community with all of Marshall's sports programs to provide fans with an opportunity to get to know Marshall's student-athletes while also getting set for the respective 2025-26 seasons.
Marshall coaches and players representing all sports will be available for autographs and photos at the event.
At 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, Marshall Men's Soccer will be on the road for its final exhibition of the preseason – a battle against Big Ten member Maryland in College Park, Md.
The week wraps up on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. as first-year Marshall Volleyball coach Heather Stout unveils her 2025 team at the Green-White Game, which will take place in Scaggs Family Practice Facility.
