HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics presents the 4th Annual 'Hoops in Huntington' event at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in front of Pullman Square, located on Third Avenue in downtown Huntington.

Hoops in Huntington brings excitement to downtown Huntington with an event that gives fans a first look at Marshall's Men's and Women's Basketball teams as they get practice underway for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Both programs feature coaches entering their second season with Cornelius 'Corny' Jackson leading the Men's Basketball program and Juli Fulks with the Women's Basketball program.

"Hoops in Huntington is a marquee event we look forward to every fall for Marshall Athletics," said Ryan Crisp, Associate Athletic Director for Annual Giving, Ticket Sales and Fan Engagement. "We are excited to give our fans a personal interaction with our men's and women's basketball teams and provide free and fun entertainment. This unique event proves to be special once again this year!"

Hoops in Huntington brings Marshall University Athletics to the downtown area for a unique evening of outdoor basketball on Third Avenue that brings the university, athletics and the Huntington community together. The outdoor court will be set up between Marshall University's Visual Arts Center and Pullman Square.

Fans are encouraged to get to the event at 6:30 p.m. for an hour to enjoy an autograph session with the teams, along with knockout competitions, inflatables and food options that will be available leading up to the event's 7:30 p.m. start.

Jackson and the Men's Basketball program saw a seven-win improvement in his first season in charge of the program after serving as a Marshall assistant for the previous seven years.

Fulks and the Thundering Herd Women's Basketball program won a program-record four postseason games in its late-season magic at the SBC Women's Basketball Tournament last season.

Marshall Men's Basketball hosts its preseason opener with a Fans First exhibition contest against Alice Lloyd on Tuesday, October 21. The Herd Women welcome the University of Pikeville in a Fans First game on Saturday, October 25.
