HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – On Friday, the Sun Belt Conference announced that Saturday's men's basketball matchup between Marshall and South Alabama has been postponed due to the threat of winter storm expected to hit this weekend.

The game, which was previously moved from 4 p.m. to Noon in preparation for the storm, will now be played on Monday, Feb. 16 at Cam Henderson Center.

"We want to thank everyone who worked tirelessly to prepare for Saturday's game, particularly after adjusting the original tip time to help mitigate potential weather-related risks for our spectators and student-athletes, and to accommodate South Alabama's travel concerns," said Gerald Harrison, Marshall Vice President and Director of Athletics. "Following continued discussions with the Sun Belt Conference and South Alabama, the decision was made to postpone the game until Feb. 16 at the Cam.

"While we recognize the challenges presented by the situation, this rescheduling does create a demanding stretch later in the season for our program, including four games in eight days, which is not ideal for the student-athlete experience. Coach Jackson and our Thundering Herd will use this additional preparation time to sharpen our focus and be ready for the challenge ahead as we prepare to travel to Texas State on Wednesday."

All tickets for Saturday's postponed game will be valid for the Feb. 16 contest against South Alabama. If you have physical tickets, please hang on to those for use at that game. If you have digital tickets, those will update automatically. Please call 800-THE-HERD with any questions.

Saturday's rescheduled contest means Marshall's next game will be an 8 p.m. contest on Wednesday at Texas State, weather permitting.

Marshall is coming off a 115-60 win over ULM in a game in which the Herd hit an SBC record 26 3-pointers, which was the most for a team in an NCAA Division I game in the 2025-26 season thus far.

That contest also had its scheduling altered to a Noon tip-off on Thursday to accommodate ULM's travel for a contest at App State on Friday ahead of the pending winter storm.

The rescheduling of Saturday's game gives Marshall a stretch in which the team has four games from Feb. 14-21 with three contests on the road – a Feb. 14 matchup at Ga. Southern, the Feb. 16 home contest against South Alabama, a Feb. 19 battle at App State and a Feb. 21 game at Coastal Carolina.

Marshall Men's Basketball's next home game will be against Southern Miss on Feb. 4, followed by a potential home matchup with a nationally-ranked opponent as former MAC rival Miami (Ohio) – currently undefeated and No. 25 nationally – visits Cam Henderson Center in the MAC-SBC Challenge on Feb. 7.

In additional Marshall Athletics scheduling news, Marshall's scheduled Swim & Dive meet for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday against Toledo will continue as scheduled at Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium after confirmation by Toledo officials on Friday morning.
