'Be HER' Event Celebrates Women In Sports On Friday, Feb. 13

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics is excited to host the 'Be HER' event, starting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Dutch Miller Deck of Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Presented by Bullseye Total Media, 'Be HER' is an unforgettable night highlighting the power and inspiration of women in sports.
The event features keynote speaker Brooke Brzozowske, the founder of Up Until Now Coaching, and includes the opportunity for women in the community to the leaders and student-athletes of Marshall's Women's Athletic programs.
"As one of the signature events of our newly-formed HERd Leadership Circle, this evening is all about bringing our community together – getting dressed up, supporting incredible local vendors and restaurants, and celebrating the powerful impact of women in athletics and leadership," said Niesha Campbell, Deputy Director of Athletics, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Woman Administrator. "Join us as we continue building something special for the next generation of Herd women."

'Be HER' is one of the signature events of the "Week of HERd: A Celebration of Women In Sports" and is an extension of the HERd Leadership Circle, which was unveiled last week as part of National Girls and Women In Sports Day festivities.
The 'Week of HERd' gets underway on Thursday with the 6 p.m. Women's Basketball game against Georgia State.
Following Friday's 'Be HER' event, the weekend wraps up with the 27th annual Sweetheart Clinic on Saturday morning at Chris Cline Indoor Athletic Complex, followed by the 1 p.m. Women's Basketball game against Arkansas State.

About the Keynote Speaker
Brzozowske is a military veteran, as well as a leadership and strategic communication coach who brings nearly 20 years of experience teaching leaders how to show up with clarity, confidence and authenticity to the 'Be HER' event.
Brzozowske's discussion will highlight a fun evening for the gals, as part of the "Week of HERd: A Celebration of Women in Sports" at Marshall University.
