2026 ‘We Are … Herd Strong!’ game to be under lights at The Joan
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football's Oct. 10 matchup against Coastal Carolina will take place at 7 p.m. from Joan C. Edwards Stadium and will be shown on ESPN+.
The Sun Belt made the announcement in coordination with ESPN, as part of the league's 12-day window for televised games.
Marshall's matchup under the lights at The Joan against Coastal Carolina brings together two Sun Belt Conference East Division rivals in a key matchup for both in Huntington.
The contest will be Marshall's first Sun Belt home game of the season after this weekend's trip to Harrisonburg, Va., to take on JMU in a 3:45 p.m. contest on ESPNU.
The last time the teams met in Huntington came on Nov. 16, 2024, in the annual '75' game when the Herd got several key plays, including a blocked field goal return for a touchdown, to earn a 31-19 win over Coastal Carolina.
Last season's meeting in Conway, S.C. went the way of the Chanticleers as Coastal Carolina got a huge third quarter to earn a 44-27 victory over the Herd.
The theme for the Oct. 10 contest against Coastal Carolina is "We Are … Herd Strong!" – Marshall's annual game that honors and remembers those who have been impacted by cancer.
