David Cantor was named Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation in May of 2005. Cantor, a Wheeling, W.Va. native, served as a partner and assisted in the management and day to day operations of the Los Angeles, Calif., based accounting firm of Gursey, Schneider & Company LLP from 1998 to 2004. His duties included the oversight of firm finances, employee time analyses and employee productivity, administrative duites, and in-house continuing education training for staff. "I am excited about having returned to Huntington," Cantor said. "It is a dream come true to be working in the athletic department at Marshall, and I am looking forward to seeing the Big Green grow as we move into Conference USA." Cantor directly supervised approximately 35 employees in the litigation department at Gursey, Schneider & Company, and performed accounting services and business valuations related to Family Law matters. From 1990-1997 he served as one of the firm's senior accountant/manager, performing accounting services and business valuations related to Family Law matters. Prior to his time at Gursey, Schneider & Company, Cantor worked as a staff accountant for local firms for more than five and a half years in Southern California. Cantor, a certified public accountant, is also accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marshall in 1984.
