Pregame & Entry

When do Marshall University lots open?

Two hours prior to kick-off.

Is tailgating permitted?

No. 

Tailgating will not be allowed at this time, per state health officials. Parking lots will open two hours before kickoff. Fans are not allowed to loiter or assemble in the parking lot. 

Tailgating could be revisited throughout the season if guidelines are relaxed.

When do gates open?

90 minutes prior to kick-off for each game

Once I enter the game, can I leave and then re-enter the game with the same ticket?

No, re-entry is not permitted this season. Once you enter the game, you must stay for the duration. 

If you leave the stadium, you will not be permitted to re-enter with the same game ticket.

Do I have to be wearing a mask upon entry?

Yes. 

A face covering – over-the-ear mask or gaiter – is required to be properly worn for all of those in attendance. No one will be allowed entry without a face covering. 

The mask must be worn AT ALL TIMES, including in spectator areas and the sky suites.

If you are taking a bite of food or taking a drink, the mask may be removed to do so but must immediately be put back on after you are done taking a bite of food or taking the drink.

Is there a clear bag policy?

At this time and for the EKU game, there is not. This policy may be revisited at a later date this season.

Can I bring food & drink in?

As a precautionary measure due to COVID-19, the water fountains at Joan C. Edwards Stadium will not be available on game day. For medical and health reasons, one (1) unopened 16.9oz or smaller bottle of water per person will be permitted to be brought in to the game. 

All other outside food and drink will be prohibited. 

Are concession stands open?

Yes. Cash & credit is accepted at all stands.

Social Distancing Guidelines

Are masks required?

Yes. 

A face covering – over-the-ear mask or gaiter – is required to be properly worn for all of those in attendance. No one will be allowed entry without a face covering. 

The mask must be worn AT ALL TIMES, including in spectator areas and the sky suites.

If you are taking a bite of food or taking a drink, the mask may be removed to do so but must immediately be put back on after you are done taking a bite of food or taking the drink.

Will I be seated near someone I don't know?

Seating in the entire stadium had to be adjusted to WV state social distancing guidelines. The following will apply to your seats in the stands this season:

  • No groups larger than six tickets in one grouping while seated in the stands;
  • While seated in the stands, the rows in front and behind you will remain empty;
  • While seated in the stands, the two seats to the left and two seats to the right of your group will remain empty. 
What are some other health & safety measures Marshall has implemented?

Social distancing guidelines must followed on the concourse of Joan C. Edwards Stadium. 

There will be hand sanitizer stations and vendors will be removed from the concourse area to allow for space to stay six feet apart. 

The concourse will be marked for concession lines and restrooms will have one entry and exit point. 

Restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the game.

Tickets

How do I get my season tickets for 2020 football games?

Except for emergency or special cases, your tickets will be emailed to you to your email address on file . Game 3 (FAU) tickets will be emailed in the coming weeks.

Single game tickets will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.

Paper tickets are not available.

How do I use the tickets to get into the game?

You will be required to have a smartphone with your email address setup on the device. You will need to pull up the email on your phone, click the EKU game, and follow the instructions to either add to the Apple / Google wallet (recommended), or download the PDF. When adding to the wallet, you will need to add each ticket to the wallet.

What if I don't have a smartphone?

Call the Marshall Ticket Office (800-THE-HERD) and we will get everything worked out!

I received my email with my tickets. Can I print them and bring them to the game?

No.

Your digital tickets in your email must be accessed from your smartphone for entry into the game. If you print the tickets, the barcodes will not work on game day.

I purchase six tickets but two of the people will be arriving separately from me. How can they get into the game?

The official process is to login to your account on HerdZone.com, and under My Account, you will see an option to "Transfer." 

Follow the on-screen instructions in order to send the tickets to another patron's email. The patron receiving the tickets will be required to create an account (if they do not already have one) on HerdZone.com in order to receive the tickets. 

It is recommended that your party enters the game at one time to avoid various ticketing issues.

I ordered season parking. How do I get that?

Season parking passes purchased through the ticket office were mailed Friday, August 28. 

Keep in mind that as of now, tailgating is not permitted and lots will open two hours prior to kick-off.

Are single game tickets on-sale?

A limited amount of single game tickets will be available for purchase for each game. All remaining Marshall home game tickets are on sale now.

SUITE ACCESS: Will elevators and stairwells be open?

Yes, elevator capacity will be limited to two individuals. If a family (living in the same household) is using an elevator, they may ride together.

Cleaning personnel will be sanitizing the elevators prior to kickoff and throughout the game. 

Stairwells to the sky suites will be available. Cleaning personnel will clean handrails prior to kickoff and throughout the game.

Students

How can I get my ticket to the football game?

This season will work a little different. There will be no paper student tickets distributed this season. In order to gain entry into the football games, all you will need is your Marshall ID. 

The digital ID on your phone is recommended. If you have not set this up, please contact Campus ID Services in Drinko Library.

Where is the student section at football games?

The student section will encompass the normal sections of 115, 117, 119, 121, 123, 221, and 223.

How many students can come to the game?

Per WV state guidelines and social distancing protocols as well as remaining in line with how the rest of the stadium was socially distanced, the Marshall student section will have a maximum capacity of 1,509.

Where do I enter the game at?

All students should enter the game through Gate F (southeast corner) of the stadium. 

Gate F is the gate behind Wendy's on 5th Ave.

Do I have to wear a mask in the student section?

Can I sit anywhere in the student section?

Seating is still first-come, first-first served in the student section.

You will be required to skip a seat in between each student and every other row in each section is to remain empty. 

The rows that will remain empty will be marked on the end seats of each row.

Can I purchase student guest tickets?

150 student guest tickets will be sold on game day for $20 each at the football stadium Gate F ticket window. They cannot be purchased in advance.

What if I leave the game? Can I come back?

Can I join the Maniacs this year?

Unfortunately due to the state COVID-19 restrictions and game day guidelines regarding social distancing and student capacities, the Marshall Maniacs will be suspended for the fall of 2020.
