2021 Volleyball - Questions & Answers

Below you will find questions & answers to how the spring 2021 Marshall Volleyball matches will operate, along with various ticketing related questions.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Will fans be allowed to attend volleyball matches during the spring 2021 season?

Yes!  A seating plan has been developed by Marshall Athletics to allow fans to attend each home match during the season. 

What is the Henderson Center capacity at matches this year?

As of December 1, the capacity inside the Henderson Center will be limited to 15%, or approximately 1,300 fans.  The capacity limit was set by Conference USA.

What will the home schedule look like for the spring 2021 season?

There are currently seven (7) home matches (conference and non-conference) scheduled this season.  The schedule remains fluid and is subject to changes due to the effects of COVID-19.

I want to come to the games this season. How can I do that?

There will be no charge for attending spring 2021 Marshall Volleyball matches played in the Henderson Center! All spectators may come to the matches free of charge.

Where do I enter the arena?

The only entrance Herd fans can use to enter the Henderson Center this season is at the top of the ramp on the 3rd Avenue side of the arena, across from the parking garage.

When do gates open?

One (1) hour prior to first serve.

University, state and/or local health officials, in response to local health conditions, reserves the right to alter Henderson Center attendance capacity at any point during the season. Any changes will be communicated to Marshall fans via email, social media, and HerdZone.com.

HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

Are masks required?

Yes. 

Over-the-ear masks are required to be properly worn for all of those in attendance and must remain on until leaving the arena after the match.

The mask must be worn AT ALL TIMES in the arena.

Are concessions open?

No, concessions will not be open for matches this season. 

You are permitted to bring in one (1) unopened bottle of water (max 20oz) per person. Fans, who for medical reasons only, are permitted to bring in small food items.

All other food and drink is prohibited.

Will I have an assigned seat?

While you will not have a ticket for the match, there are designated rows that you will be permitted to sit in. Social distancing between groups must be maintained in these designated rows.

Rows that are marked with yellow X's must be left empty for the duration of the match.

Will I be seated near someone I don't know?

Seating in the entire arena had to be adjusted to WV state social distancing guidelines. The following will apply to your seats in the stands this season:

  • No groups larger than four in one grouping while seated in the stands;
  • While seated in the stands, the two rows in front and behind you will remain empty;
  • While seated in the stands, the three seats to the left and three seats to the right of your group will remain empty.
What are some other health & safety measures Marshall has implemented?

Social distancing guidelines must followed in the concourses of Henderson Center.

There will be hand sanitizer stations and vendors will be removed from the concourse area to allow for space to stay six feet apart. 

Concessions are not available at this time.
