Cody Linn was hired as Associate Director of Sports Information in November of 2018 and works primarily with the Thundering Herd men’s basketball, men’s soccer, volleyball, baseball and swim & dive programs.
Before coming to Huntington, Linn spent a year as a Strategic Communications Assistant at the University of South Alabama in athletics. He primarily worked with the Jaguar women’s basketball, men’s tennis squads while helping produce credentials for football games. In Linn’s short time with the Jags, he provided coverage of the WBB team’s first postseason appearance in 15 years that saw them reach the WBI semifinals and the men’s tennis team which won the 2018 Sun Belt Championship and upset Memphis in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament.
Prior to his stop in Mobile, he spent a year as a Media Relations Assistant at Ohio University in its athletics department primarily working with the field hockey and wrestling teams. In his time with the Bobcats, Linn traveled to the Mid-American Conference Wrestling Championships to cover Ohio’s Shakur Laney title winning run in the 125 lb. weight-class. He also traveled to the 2017 NCAA Wrestling Championships to provide coverage and support for Ohio’s three wrestlers at the event.
In addition to working with the field hockey and wrestling teams, Linn traveled to Mobile, Ala., to help provide social media coverage for the Bobcats at the 2016 Dollar General Bowl. He provided video and pictures from the sideline for the @OhioAthletics twitter account during the game.
Linn graduated from Ohio University from E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2015 with a B.S. in Journalism.
