Garnet McKinley was hire in December of 2018 as the fulltime Marshall Athletic Budget/Personnel Coordinator. Prior to that she worked as the part-time accountant from 2011 until she was hired for her current position.
The South Charleston Business office then functioned as Marshall University’s Budget Office – (office moved to Huntington campus in 2001) She first was Budget Manager and then in 2005 became MU Budget Director until retirement in 2010.
She came to Marshall in 1998 when the Legislature merged the WV Graduate College with Marshall University.
She started in Higher Education in 1992 at the WV Graduate College in Charleston, WV – functioned as accountant, budget, accounting software administrator, supervised Bursar function and other business functions.
She is a graduate of WV State University with a BSBA.
Garnet was married to the late Bill McKinley. She has eight children, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is originally from Hamilton, Ohio.
