Maura Hohl (R.D.) joined the Herd in July 2023 as the Athletic Department's first Director of Performance Nutrition. Hohl is a Registered Dietitian and is licensed to work with all of Marshall's athletic programs.
The native of Brookeville, Maryland came to the Herd after a year-long fellowship with the University of Virginia. Hohl was one of nine selected across the country to Gatorade's Sports Nutrition Immersion Program (SNIP), being placed with UVA. With the Cavaliers, she oversaw the school's athletic programs, including the 2022-23 UVA NCAA Women's National Champion Swimming and Diving team.
Hohl received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science (Dietetics) from the University of Dayton in 2020, graduating from the Honors program and with a Magna Cum Laude. She received her Master of Science (Focus in Sports Nutrition) postgraduate degree in 2022 from the University of Pittsburgh. There she worked with the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, taking part in the Graduate Quality Improvement (QI) Research Project: Urine Specialty Gravity (USG) Hydration Testing.
