Immediately prior to joining the Marshall staff, Robinson served as the Assistant Director of Student Athlete Development at the University of South Carolina (2021-2022) overseeing the Generation Gamecock mentoring program, facilitating student athlete career & professional development programming including Networking Night; Dress Like a Pro series; individualized resume, mock interview, & graduate school sessions; as well as assisting with the Beyond Sports Internship program.
She began her career in higher education in 2004 and brings to Marshall a successful background in providing a wide range of programming and student support. In addition to South Carolina University, Robinson previously served in various roles at:
- Central State University, 2019-2021, Athletic Academic Support Coordinator- sole departmental advisor that served all student athletes in fostering academic success; monitored progress toward degree; created departmental policies regarding academics, study hall requirements & best practices; developed academic improvement plans for student athletes; and served as a transcript evaluator for the University.
- Union College, 2018-2019, Education & Retention Specialist – oversaw Academic Resource Center & tutoring program; recruited & trained peer tutors & supplemental instructors; provided academic advising; assisted with monitoring student athlete academic progress; created curriculum for Academic Resource course that assisted at risk students with developing skill sets to be successful; and served as the coordinator for accommodations for students with documented disabilities.
- University of Kentucky, 2016-2018, Extension Agent- provided community & school based educational programming; facilitated 4-H Youth Development camping programs (county, regional & state); recruited, maintained & trained a volunteer cohort; and provided programming for 4-H Youth Development on a county, state and national level.
- West Virginia University, 2013-2016, Extension Agent- provided community & school based educational programming, facilitated 4-H Youth Development camping programs (county, regional & state); recruited, maintained & trained a volunteer cohort; created curriculum and provided programming for 4-H Youth Development, Workforce Development, Agriculture and Family & Consumer Sciences on a county, state and national level.
- Mountwest Community & Technical College, 2008-2013, Student Recruiter- Actively recruited traditional and non-traditional students; provided academic advising to students; and assisted with processing admissions applications.
- Marshall University. 2004-2008- First served as tutor for athletics, then transitioned into Graduate Assistant in 2006 with the Buck Harless Student Athlete Program.
A native of Milton, W.V., Robinson graduated from Marshall University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She also earned her Master of Science in Adult & Technical Education from Marshall University in 2008.
